In this world of bad economic news, terrorist attacks, and the Swine Flu, it’s a great deal of fun to find a little ‘gemstone in the rough’ and be able to share its joy with so many people. Over the last few weeks, my wife and I have been privileged to do just that.
It gives me great pride to announce that we’re expecting our first child in mid-January! *Fanfare commences*
It’s a time of excitement, anxiety, and hope as we venture into the unknown waters ahead of us.
So far, we have no idea about the gender but that information should be forthcoming within the next few months. Either way, we are hoping for a beautiful, healthy, and (may the stars align) sleep-through-the-night baby!
Our dog, bless her heart, is already jealous and clamoring for attention all day long. It’s going to be amusing watching her adapt to a new family member.
In celebration of our new family addition, I’d also like to announce the start of “Baby Week.” Over the course of the coming week, I’m going to fill the blog with some fantastic baby and pregnancy-themed posts that I hope you will love.
Thank you all for being a part of this community and sharing the experience with us. I know that this will only serve to enrich our lives personally, and through that I hope to enrich your lives as well.

Woot, congratulations, life as you know it will never be the same. My hope for you is that it’s been as wonderful as an experience as it’s been for me. It’s frankly hard to believe that you can love someone so much. Here’s my first two tips you can have these for free:
No matter what anybody says you don’t need a baby wipe warmer. You don’t want to raise a wussy kid, they can deal with a slightly cold bottom wipe.
This is for your sanity. When you assemble the crib, make sure it’s in the room you want it to be in because they are enormous and certainly won’t be fitting through any doorways.
