I just found your blog and I think it's fantastic. :) I still have lots of reading to do! I'm an Mvelopes user as well. I LOVE this idea of organizing your budget according to the various roles in your life. What a great way to ensure that your spending reflects your priorities. I'm in the midst of revamping our budget for a new year, and I think I'll give this a try! Thanks for all your great ideas.
Alissa

But if there's one thing where I like a lot of detail, it's my envelope budget, because I think it's perfectly suited to track every little thing. That, and if I don't do it - I lose track of what is actually in my budget!

I know – it’s kind of ironic. But I do like the idea that you should put things you want to fund eventually on your budget -- even if you end up with $0 for the time being. I hadn't thought of doing it, and I think it's a great idea.

We organize our budget, but with fewer categories <img
