Proud New Dad (and Mom)

It’s going to be an interesting week, to say the least!

Those of you following me on Twitter and Tumblr already got the news: “Little Fizzle,” or Evan, was born Friday morning, weighing in at 8 pounds and 10 ounces, one whopper of a head diameter, and lots of daddy-like hair on that head. :) Yes, that’s him in the photo above.

What a sight!

Mama and Baby are both doing awesome, and unexpectedly sleeping through good and long chunks of the night. The emotions of the past few days are definitely hard to describe, but certainly easy to relate to if you’ve had kids. It’s unlike anything else in the world.

As you can imagine, my schedule over the next few weeks will be shaky, but you can expect to see posts going up throughout the week. Writing is actually a good mental break for me from all the other craziness going on during the day. Twitter and emails will be a little more shaky as we adjust to the new schedule and catch up on sleep.

I’m also thinking ahead to the next year at Fiscal Fizzle, as the blog itself turns one on February 1st. As we experience the joys and challenges of first-time parenthood, you can expect that we’ll share that experience with you, especially finacially.

Finally, thank you so much for the words of encouragment, support, excitement, and joy that you’ve shared with us over the last few days. I would answer each one of you individually, but I have to take a nap now. I’m sure you understand… :)

We have so many things to be thankful for today. Life is truly beautiful.

Wow, that’s a lot of hair. Out littlest was practically bald when she was born. Enjoy him!

Congratultions Wojciech! Enjoy these precious days, they’ll go by so fast. Everything at this age is just a phase and it could last any where from a few days to a few months, but it all passes.

Oh, and be sure to take a lot of pictures!

Wojciech…Congratulations! As a father of four, I can say with authority that your life will never be the same again, and that is a WONDERFUL thing. Even now that my kids are all grown, I can’t imagine what my life would have been like without them. Evan is a fortunate young man!
