Updates: Plutus Awards, #BP Twitter Chat Tonight

I have a number of blog housekeeping items for you today, but don’t leave just yet–they are as awesome and as important as my usual content.

Plutus Awards

First and foremost, I am very honored to announce that Fiscal Fizzle is a finalist for the 2009 Best New Personal Finance Blog award, thanks to Flexo and the Plutus Awards he has put together.

Thank you to all of those who nominated me a few months ago–without your vote of support, I would obviously not be a finalist.

It’s crazy to be considered for the “best” of anything, much less with such esteemed company as:

All right, so I have my work cut out for me. But for those of you who just love this blog (and who doesn’t, right? Okay, now I’m being egotistical), you can definitely help me by voting for Fiscal Fizzle to win the award!

#BP Twitter Chat

Okay, on to item #2. After a couple of awesome months, it’s finally time for me to co-host the Wednesday night #BP Twitter chat.

Craig from BudgetPulse organized this chat a few months ago, and it’s already had a number of awesome hosts take the wheel.

The topic on tonight’s Twitter chat, very appropriately I might add, will be:

Pregnancy, Babies, and Frugal Parenting, etc.

Other Updates

In other news, you may have noticed regular guest posts appearing on the blog! Yup–I am trying to make this a weekly feature (they have been on Tuesdays up to this point), and thus far it has been a resounding success!

If you’re a blogger or just like to write, I encourage you to consider guest posting for me! (I’m going to try and convince my wife to do one very soon!). Just email me your idea and we’ll talk about it.

As usual, all the typical rules about not spamming me with silly requests for guest posts apply! You hear that, spammers?

You may have also noticed that I gave the blog a bit of simpler look. This was for ease of navigation, and to really highlight the most important areas of the site.

I have a task list 30 items long of other improvements, so those will be coming very soon! Also, I can’t wait to show you guys the new Fiscal Fizzle logo. Exciting!!
