I know you’re all absolutely dying for me to come back…*crickets* so here’s quick rundown of where things stand after two months. Okay, maybe I’m being hard on myself. I know there’s at least 5 people who follow this blog regularly–myself, my mom, my wife, my boss, and Len Penzo.
All kidding aside, things behind the scenes are rolling along just fine.
In late June, I had the “lightbulb moment” for the blog. It was that sudden rush of creative juice where everything just magically comes together in your mind.
I saw the future of Fiscal Fizzle, clear as day.
Fortunately for my sanity, I’ve had to “revise” that future a bit to fit the reality of available time and my own readily available skills, but I’m very happy with how things are turning out.
I realized two things about the blog:
- I was trying to mold my message, way of thinking, and habits to the blog itself, instead of structuring my blog around myself.
- I wasn’t living up to my motto of “spicy thoughts,” consistently challenging the status quo.
My goal is to change all of that next month. Without revealing too much (it’s still a moving target), the new Fiscal Fizzle will consist of:
- Concise, daily thoughts published every weekday morning. These will be much shorter than the posts you’re used to from me, and much more a’la Seth Godin.
- An email mini-magazine, with the featured post also published on the blog on Saturdays and exclusive content delivered only to your inbox.
All of the content will remain completely free! I am working on several premium e-Books as we speak, but it will be a while before those are released into the world.
Only a month or so until I’m ready to roll out the new Fiscal Fizzle…I can’t wait to share it with you!

Yay!! Glad to hear you are coming back in fulll force! Looking forward to your return!
Me too! I have to keep reminding myself that I’m trying to build up a backlog and not re-launch too early!
I also follow your blog *sniff*. Kidding aside, you need to take a break now and then. Can’t wait to see the fruits of your labor.
Well, I do appreciate that!
I can’t wait to share it with you.
Good luck with the comeback. I still think fewer bigger posts is easier than more and shorter posts – I’ve had to abandon my blogs following the latter course, though I am still persevering with one – but everyone is different.
Whatever works for you!
You know, I just looked hard at the way I think and write and am going with what felt right, so hopefully this will work out.
Thanks!
