Guest Posting on Fiscal Fizzle
I will occasionally feature guest writers on Fiscal Fizzle in an effort to provide a greater variety of voices and opinions in personal finance. If you are interested in contributing, please continue reading.
I’ve developed the following guidelines based on several years of both good and bad experiences with guest authors. I hope you will appreciate the requirements as a means of controlling quality, not limiting your writing.
If you’d like to guest post on Fiscal Fizzle, please adhere to the following:
- As a start, please send me a topic or list of topics you intend to write about with a short outline for each.
- Also send me any web sites you intend to link to in your post or biography. Please note that links are strictly limited to personal blogs only (unless citing a source), not company blogs or sites. The latter is most often just an advertisement veiled as a guest post. Advertising opportunities are available if you want to go this route–please contact me.
- Topics should be limited to the personal finance genre, but I encourage writing on areas that I typically don’t cover, such as investing, taxes, singles money, home ownership, etc.
- Posts should be a minimum of 600-800 words, high in “real” content (i.e. avoiding repetition or long introductions), and offer a new or innovative way of looking at the topic at hand.
- Please spell and grammar check, and review for organization and clarity prior to submitting.
- Cite any information or data you reference. Absolutely no copy-protected work shall be used without attribution and under the terms of fair use.
- Provide a 1-sentence bio to run with your post (see above for link requirements).
- Your post may be edited for clarity, content, links, and/or grammar and spelling. At this point, I will also determine whether the post will fit the quality and content standards of the site, and it’s possible that it will be rejected. Please don’t take this personally.
- Promote the post once it’s published to the extent you can via social media, blogs, etc.
Additionally, here’s some more legal stuff you should be aware of:
- All guest posts become the property of Fiscal Fizzle and KPL Media, LLC.
- You agree to provide original content and not republish the post on any other site or in any other format unless you obtain written permission from me.
- Guest posts are not compensated in any way.
- Though it’s not my intent to do so, by submitting a guest post, you understand that your post may be edited or removed from the site in the future, or the blog may cease to exist.
I hope these guidelines help you! Please email me at wojo@fiscalfizzle.com if you have any questions or would like to submit your ideas for consideration.
